My First on time Design Wall Monday Post

I always forget to post for design wall Monday...until I read the digest version on Tuesday.  Here is the first four blocks of my star studded crumb block quilt.  Since this is on the cork board above my cutting table, I also have baggies of fabrics fastened to it, too.  This bulletin board also serves as a "door" that hides my rulers, etc. on the shelves behind it.

On my regular design wall, I have the blocks from a quilt camp challenge.  I need to have the top finished by May 1 for this year's quilt camp.  I already have an idea of how I am going to do the sashings and cornerstones.
Would you move the row of Dolly Madison stars that are all currently at the bottom?  I thought about moving them to the top or the corners?  I need to do more rearranging and take some more pictures.  Hmmmm....

Enjoy the beautiful weather today!
Later,
Lorrie

  1. Your camp challenge blocks look great and I think I would use the Dolly Madison blocks in the corners. The crumb blocks are fun. Love the colors!

  2. Welcome to DWM. Love your crumb stars. I agree with Ramona, DM stars in the corners.

  3. What nice challenge blocks. I would also vote for moving the star blocks--either in the corners or randomly placed in the quilt since they aren't as scrappy as the other blocks.

  4. Thank you for the lovely comment over at my place http://catsnqlts2.blogspot.com regarding our recent quilt show. You are coming back no reply blogger so this is the only way I can contact you. It is that darned google plus doing it. You may be wondering why you are commenting and not hearing anything back from other quilters. It can be changed! Follow the instructions in a post like this http://morefromyourblog.com/no-reply-blogger-how-to-fix-this/

  5. Very pretty blocks. I'd probably put the DM stars in the corners, maybe on the diagonal if you want a different look.

  6. Love the idea about the crumb piecing for the center of the stars!

  7. Since you have the Sunbonnet Sue and Overall Sam in such a symmetrical placement, I would suggest moving the star blocks into a more symmetrical placement also. Corners maybe?

  8. Your quilts are so lovely and yes, though I am not a quilter, I have a good eye for pattern and colour, I think, and I would definitely move those stars to each corner to set the whole thing off more effectively. xCathy
